Sergei Prokofieff (1891-1953), one of the great composers of the first half of the 20th century, was also a renowned pianist acclaimed for his brilliant technique. Among his published compositions, exceeding 130, was this "Sonata in D" for flute and piano, Opus 94 written in 1943.
